Thanks for the update KEP.

Can you provide an estimate on how long it will take to complete the project dataset given the current speed of computers. What I mean is Reb provides a time estimate with each batch of tasks he provides so maybe this can be extrapolated to cover the set. eg Project estimated completion date: 31st Dec 9999 :)

To cover the k's remaining in the untested k's, will take at least: 85,984,101 CPU days, to test from n=1 to n=25K (and that may very well be worse).

There is no reason to believe that the litterally billions of k's remaining at n=25K, will be a walk in the park. In other words, to make a realistic assumpsion, we could propably expect to see following times required for each double in n:

CPU days mentioned are equivalent to i5-4670 CPU days :)

85,984,101 (n=1 to n=25K)
257,952,303 (n=25K to n=50K)
773,856,909 (n=50K to n=100K)
2,321,570,727 (n=100K to n=200K)
6,964,712,181 (n=200K to n=400K)
20,894,136,543 (n=400K to n=800K)
62,682,409,629 (n=800K to n=1.6M)
188,047,228,887 (n=1.6M to n=3.2M)
564,141,686,661 (n=3.2M to n=6.4M)
1,692,425,059,983 (n=6.4M to n=12.8M)
5,077,275,179,949 (n=12.8M to n=25.6M)
15,231,825,539,847 (n=25.6M to n=51.2M)

22,847,695,317,720 (n=1 to n=51.2M)

so estimated completion date is with current ressources (~5000 cores):

15th of June in the year 12,512,724

All just remember, if you want to do faster, bring in more ressources :)

Take care :)

Iam optimistic to get it proven in lifetime. If we start base 280 there will be many k's removed from the k's total.

I think KEP has that still in progress, but you cant await a big jump, should be nearly the same. We need to start some bigger unreserved bases with billions of factors left to change the percent status.

@ Vaughan and every one else :)

I'm sorry to inform everyone, that I'm currently not doing very well (mentally and physically, the latter due to the former), so even though I know it's time for a new status, I'll use the opportunity, by creating a new stats and launch that stat on october 1st. Sorry for the delay, but something better is coming up by saturday :) ... Promise :) ... ohh and as Reb mentioned it, do not expect any kind of big jump in progress.

Thanks for your understanding :)

Ps. I'm not on skype at the moment, for those of you who knows me on Skype, however I'll see any PM sent at this site to me and if nescessary respond to the sender :)

Thanks Mankka* :)

Yes life is a journey and fortunantly it starts to look brighter :)

We do really need more and faster computers. Maybe the French folks will stay aboard a little longer and help push us very fast.

I'm currently getting some help to learn how to take care of myself. It appears that I haven't done a very great job, at all when it comes to take care of myself.

Thanks for your warm and kind message :)

Hope that you also takes care of yourself :)

Regards

FYI, L'AF is having a challenge with SRBase as the priority project atm.
The end date is planned for the 9th of October (might last a couple more days if some decent objective in view :)).

On a side note, take care of yourself KEP.

Yes, saw the other thread about it. There is always an objective, decent I don't know, but it is an objective to prove all our 2000+ conjectures;)

On a side note, take care of yourself KEP.

Thank you, sure will, that is why I'm currently working part time and do only set and forget tasks when it comes to science... in case anyone wonders, a set and forget task is a task that in itself takes so long, that it can run litterally months without interruptions and the need of human activity :)

Take care :)

Yes we really have a lot of work left. We really need the 1000 core computers that has been talked about for years. Once that day come - the day of the 1000 core computer - at layman prices then we will really start to see some progress being made. However I expect at the next update, that we will see a jump of about ~4 billion k's, due to completion of my Sierpinski base 3 range :)

This brings me to a final note. If we really wanna see the progress bar jump, we need more people starting up untested ranges and untested bases. Most k's are removed for n<=25000, however those k's are also unmentionable except when completing the proof that the conjectured k is actually the smallest k possible for wich no prime excist for any n, since n<=25000 is very far even for the highest bases from Top5000 territory. So as Gary mentioned it a long time ago. Searching for n<=25000 and starting new ranges is not for the faint of heart, since there is no chance of a Top5000 prime :)
