Einstein has an option for size, but they don't use the standard Boinc software, they added stuff.

Milkyway I think is just the standard software, maybe a newer version than yours? I just put the link in IMG tags and it automatically fits the width of the browser.

Anyway, time to see how many GPUs I can run at once :-)
If the power goes out in my town, it wasn't me!

I've no idea where all that code in my post came from. I thought I had:

This initially showed the three images at full size off the screen. But now all I see is code, did you edit it?

What code did you use in your post?

Well that sort of works, doesn't shrink them to the width of the screen. Isn't all Boinc forum software equal?

Getting fed up of £86 1000W PSUs for my GPUs lasting only 6 months, I bought a couple of 1300W ones, second hand, for only £14 each.  Ex-HP server power supplies.  A bit of tinkering required, I had to find the power up pins for example, TWO of them needed grounded to boot it up.  I've never seen such a crowded 3 dimensional circuit.  Every last space carefully used.

So er.... some modifications, it was too loud, and the power connector wasn't a standard IEC, because those puny Americans only have 110V, so it needs a 16A connector.  But we got you back though, you only get 940W with the lower input voltage!  HA!

So er.... [ / i m g] tags don't work in here? The address is in imgur, and this post works in Einstein and Milkyway. There should be three pictures.

Cool! That seems to be working. Although I changed it to:

<exclude_gpu>
<url>https://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/</url>
<device_num>2</device_num>
</exclude_gpu>
<exclude_gpu>
<url>https://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/</url>
<device_num>1</device_num>
</exclude_gpu>

Because the project is attached with https, and it doesn't seem to take two device numbers in one instruction.

I'm confused now. Earlier you said "Excluding a card doesn't help either because you have the same multi-GPU setup", but now you are suggesting (I think) I can keep SRbase off all but one GPU and it would work?

Thanks. What were you asking earlier about my app config?

You have a point there, my triple GPU machines are the two failing. The others work fine, they have single GPUs. I couldn't put my finger on it because I was looking at card models instead.

Is there some way you can prevent them going out to multi GPU setups? Inform the user, etc? They seem to work then mostly fail or sit idle for ages.

By the way, I didn't get an email to inform me of your reply.

Do you have an app_config?

Yes I know how to use those. What are you suggesting I do with it?

I sent you a PM with a SPAM filter notice from your provider, you must setup your config there.

Ah, yes it does that sometimes, it's run by my ISP. But if it's turned off, I get 50 spams a day. Can you tell me the address it will be coming from please? I can simply add a whitelist exception like "microsoft.com" - for now I'll assume it's my-firewall.org (which to be fair on my ISP filter does look dodgy!)

I have Tahiti and Fury GPUs. They randomly finish a task in an hour, or not at all, no % GPU usage, just sit there. Not sure how long I should leave them. No CPU being used either. I'm now trying 8 at a time on the GPUs so they can work on another when one has dozed off. The cards are NOT incompatible, because I have successfully finished many tasks on them all.

I have got a confirmation from the vendor to return the broken RAM module for RMA.

There is a must to send back the complete affected KIT.

Tell them to get lost, send the broken chip back only. You have no legal obligation to send back working devices.

The GPU apps can only run on device 0, it was not designed for multi-GPU.

But they run on both if I allow both. There must be a way to make it only run on the second one (device 1)? All the other projects do this.

I have 2 GPUs in this machine. First one is RX560, second is R9 280X.

The RX560 began playing up (computing on it causes the display to flicker), so I can either use it as a computing card or a display card, and since I have 5 monitors on this machine, I've demoted it to display only, so:

I inserted this: <ignore_ati_dev>0</ignore_ati_dev> into cc_config.xml and all was fine. MW ran on ATI 1, the R9 280X. But now I'm running SRBase, I heard the fan not making any noise and checked in MSI Afterburner, which confirms the wrong card is being used. I double cheright because of which one heats up. Boinc is still saying at startup:

16-03-2022 05:10 PM OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 0 (ignored by config): Radeon RX 560 Series (driver version 3240.6, device version OpenCL 2.0 AMD-APP (3240.6), 4096MB, 4096MB available, 2197 GFLOPS peak) 16-03-2022 05:10 PM OpenCL: AMD/ATI GPU 1: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series (driver version 3240.6, device version OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (3240.6), 3072MB, 3072MB available, 4178 GFLOPS peak)

But it disobeys itself and uses only the RX560 (AMD/ATI GPU 0).

I tried changing it to <ignore_ati_dev>1</ignore_ati_dev> and restarting Boinc, then back to <ignore_ati_dev>0</ignore_ati_dev> and restarting Boinc, but whichever one I set (which it shows in the event log correctly), it always runs SRBase on device 0 incorrectly.

Switching back to Milkyway uses the correct card! In fact,
Milkyway
Collatz
Einstein
Primegrid
Amicable Numbers
all use the correct card. Why would one project be able to disobey Boinc's instruction?

If I let it use both cards, SRBase uses both cards, but the one on the 280X doesn't get anywhere. Presumably it's incompatible with the 280X, and disobeys my instruction, but if they're both allowed, it tries both anyway?!

Uninstalling Malwarebytes fixed the problem with all three projects. Strange as Malwarebytes didn't inform me it was blocking anything.

I'm getting an error "Incorrect function" on quite a few SRbase tasks (about half of them) from one computer only out of my 4. Another project (tngrid) is reporting the error "disk limit exceeded". There is no disk space shortage (I have 20GB free), and I haven't specified a limit for disk space in BOINC. Any ideas what's going on?

This is one of the SRBase errors from http://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/result.php?resultid=263307036

This is the machine in question: http://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/results.php?hostid=60114

Just started in the last few days, changes made to the machine that might be the cause are:
1) Some windows updates (including a major one).
2) A different (very old 4MB) graphics card was inserted into the machine (just for display purposes, not crunching).
3) Malwarebytes changed from the free version (run on demand) to the trial full version (realtime).
