Problem with 4070

Posted 7 Mar 2024 by tito How did You perform UV? I have 4070 as well and no errors at any project. What I did is lowered power limit to 66% and rised core clock by 100MHz all done in MSI afterburner. Try lower power limit to level You like, crunch some WU. If all ok then rise core clock by 50 at once til errors appeares. |

Posted 28 Mar 2023 by tito On desktop same story. It's AMD 3900x Frequency and voltage set manually to 3600@1,0v 22 x average gives temp of 52deg (1500rpm) 22 x short gives 62 deg (1500rpm) Optimization is different, or maybe RAM not fast enough? |

Posted 26 Mar 2023 by tito 1) I'm sure short gave temp spike over average 2) That host is laptop with linux and before I switched off boost completely so I totally didn't read parameters as they were always under 60deg. Now I started boost again so I carefully followed temp and rpm reading. 3 short WU and 3 average gave temp increase over 6 average WU about 10 deg - till short finished. Then temp dropped again (fan rpm considered) Doesn't matter - I decided to change laptop to universe and desktop to SR-base CPU |

Because I crunch on laptop I would like to avoid apps that generates more heat, but which are those? Shorts gives higher temps for sure, while averages are, well - average. Is there any info available? |

Posted 26 Nov 2022 by tito I have 2 rigs 3900x Both were running at 3500@1,0V (little lower were stable as well) full stable on all torture tests with Prime95 and BOINC and power consumption was very little so even Fera5 cooler were keeping it under 65deg Try to set constant freq and voltage. |
