Reb,

was wondering earlier if this type of message received from within Boinc Manager by clients couldn't be made more accurate when, obviously, for a given Project/Sub Project (SRBase or else), the so said Project has a lot of WUs to distribute but doesn't for any good reason.

I've faced this message hundreeds of times w/o being able to understand this wasn't due to my own configuration (cache config, tasks in progress -total time- or whatever ...).

I don't super trust BM's scheduller to be honest but sometimes we get responses from project servers that aint that clear as well.

So basically, I'm asking if this is ez, at the project level, to warn the users in this type of cases that, ya, WUs are available but won't be sent at a given time (server side decision). This would prevent us from scratching our heads and, in some occasions, fuxoring our own configurations for no reason at then end

We do really need more and faster computers. Maybe the French folks will stay aboard a little longer and help push us very fast.

FYI, L'AF is having a challenge with SRBase as the priority project atm.
The end date is planned for the 9th of October (might last a couple more days if some decent objective in view :)).

How often are the badges updated. My account seems to be way behind as most say I have the 10K badge when most are over 80K>

Check the FAQ: badge levels are 10k,100k,500k,1M,2M,5M,10M,20M,50M credits so the next step for you is 100k

HI,
SR switches between different tasks within itself and looses a lot of time due to non existing checkpoints.
I find it very bad, to waste the calculating time of all the volunteers, only because SR cannot be asked to implement these.
This should be highest priority.
Any comments?

Hi Rasputin42,

as far as I know :
- checkpoints do exist at SRBase (every 10' if I remember well) despite the fact that the elapsed time is reset to 0 each time a task is restarted from suspended mode (we've been told that there's no way to fix this problem at the moment -not due to this specific project-)
- maybe you could check your Boinc Manager options (Tools/Computation Preferences) and increase the value for the 'Switch application every XXX minutes' field to prevent from jumping too often between tasks
