Thought I'd post here with likely more success - I'm trying to add support for relatively newer GPU's on mfakto(AMD GPUs) - basically a correct kernel ordering... could be decent speedups. Could I have the output of --perftest and GPU name for any GPU later than RX 5xx?

There was not output file created after test.

Rebirther might use an edited mfakto.ini - at least if he is using the one I sent him originally. The vectorsize was in that set to 2 (in stead of default), due to very old GPU, but I cannot recall if I made other changes. Maybe Rebirther should change the vectorsize to something new or maybe someone should upgrade mfakto, such that the vectorsize is before testing begins set to optimal vectorsize. Is such an automatical determination and setting of vectorsize part of your optimizations?

I'm pretty sure that I did not remove TestExponents from the ini I sent to Rebirther - but again I'm not sure if that is the one he actually uses.

Hello Reb, i think the "GPU72" on the account page and the server status page aren't updated yet.


It will be changed as soon as we finish our GPU72 reservation. Unfortunantly it is not possible to make the changes before our current reservation is complete, without risk of loosing work currently in progress. Our ambition is to leave and wrap our reservation from GPU72 cleanly. A consequence of that, may be that we may also very temporarily run out of work, while going from GPU72 to mersenne.org work. It is a shame that it had to end and be like that, but at least the support for GIMPs and thereby the support for the research to find new Mersenne Primes, is intact. Thanks for chiming in.

I was to, but at least now we have George in our back and for the future the Trial Factoring effort is going to be (if needed) coordinated with George. What would really help, were if those abandoning the tasks just aborted them and if a few more with highend GPUs came to our assistance. If we get to close to may 7th, there is still a not nice possibility to use, but let's hope that we have all current work completed by the end of the month so we can get going with mersenne.org :)
