I must send back the mainboard (Gigabyte X570 xtreme). It has a little sound scratching in idle and coil whining under full load (VRMs). For this price this is not acceptable and I have never seen this from a mainboard. It also had a very old BIOS and didnt let me install windows from USB (Bluescreens every time), bugged. At first I flashed the BIOS (F11) and all was good so far. Without a second computer you have no chance to setup.

For the ryzen 3950x test I have used llr -t16 (16 cores @59°C FFT640) and pfgw (1 core each up to 16 @70-80°C) with the Noctua NH-U14S (<1000rpm, the cooler was bigger than expected but compatible with the board/RAM) - BIOS settings SMT (HT) disabled. The videocard in idle has 0rpm.

Now I need to fill out RMA and hope the second board will be better.

The 2nd mainboard and the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Gaming have the same issues with coil whining, I have found a solution to reduce it a bit, will build the rest later this week, still need a new monitor because mine is very old and has no HDMI / DP connections. This can take a while to setup all the things I need and test it with the BOINC VM (current estimated time 1 month). The current main issue is the windows 10 automatic restart after update, I found a software but still need to be tested. Why its not possible anymore to tell windows when I want to install / download updates manually. Stupid MS.

I think you could delay updates or even suspend them until a time you choose via settings.

From Digital Citizen:
How to delay Windows 10 updates, like the November 2019 Update

Easy to understand instruction in the article linked above.

For how much time can you delay updates in Windows 10?

Regardless of the Windows 10 edition that you are using, be it Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home, you can pause updates. In the Home edition, you can only delay them for up to 35 days, while in more expensive editions such as Windows 10 Pro, you can delay them for up to 365 days.

I think the tool is better with one click.

https://www.deskmodder.de/blog/2018/11/21/wumgr-als-app-im-microsoft-store-fuer-windows-10-updates-manuell-installieren/

The page is in German but you can find the program in win10 store.

current update:
The coil whining was only on the llr -t16 test, BOINC under full load was ok, one more test is needed for pfgw. The setup is still without the case. Missing programs need to be installed too and waiting for a new bigger monitor.
