I have added a script to backup the database manually (if no work is uploading) once a day. On this PCI4 M2 its taking <20s for 16GB max

Looking at the server status page I can see there are only long WUs available. Is it safe to crunch or should we wait for everything to go back to normal?

Everything on the server status page shows Ubuntu as the OS, why is there a Windows point of failure at all? Windows 10, is it a LTS build? I don't like running Win10 on my desktop, but I also play games that will not run on Linux.

A VM can be moved to another place too.

Ah I see, might be worth exploring a solution that removes Win10 from the Ubuntu chain. The loss is unfortunate but as long as it's a learning experience and some best practices are implemented with backups, hindsight is 20/20.
