Hi
New here so please be gentle.

Twice now I've had my Linux PC lock up on me while crunching SRBase.

I thought it might be the GPU taks, so switched them off. Nope, locked up again today after 1 hour of crunching.

So, what to do? I'm now crunching Rosetta to see if problem is project independent. Time will tell. So far, so good.

Specs:
Ryzen 9 3900X CPU
32GB DDR4 RAM
Linux Mint 20.2 64 bit

What do you mean with lock up? Heat issue? Any errors?

No, doesn't appear to be heat issue.

Both monitors go blank. I try to get a response. Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing.

The reset button does nothing. Even the power button fails to shut the PC down.

So I have to physically power down at the power point then turn on again.

I have no idea, something could be broken. The best way is to test the PC with prime95 and Futuremark. Perhaps the powersupply.

Yes, I'm thinking something hardware as well. Crunches fine on other projects.

Downloaded prime95 64bit. Let it run blended tests - all cores.

Let it run overnight. Came back in the morning - PC still running but the prime95 tasks had all completed.

I've had issues with power supply before when I had a high-end video card. Will change the PSU for something better.
