It is bad for slower cards. They could not reach the deadline on 2nd task.

Well the question wasnt about slower cards. Slower cards also run at 100% so the desire is not there like with a 5090.

Id run two zombie in your case if they dont conflict with each other.

yes but in this case you will get a lot of unstarted errors.

Message 11874 - Posted: 15 Jun 2026, 0:25:57 UTC

How can I tell if a LL - dc task is stalled or still running?

I have two computers where it is the only thing running for >24 hours. One is a RTX 2080Ti other is a RTX 3090.

Pls check the FAQ for runtimes. Take a look in your stderr.txt for progress.

I place cc_config and Boinc read it:

77 SRBase 16. Juni 2026, 19:14:12 Config: excluded GPU. Type: ATI. App: LL-dc. Device: 0

But units still don`t run....

Maybe the problem is that i use the RTX as eGPU via Oculink. Boinc sees both GPU as device 0. I switch the AMD now off in device manager and now i have a unit running.
Thx anyway :)

Hello, lurker here just commenting a positive observation of LL-dc jobs for my NVIDIA 4090 GPU - that I've noticed overnight how the LL-dc jobs appear to be showing a more appropriate estimated runtime of 5 to 6 hours on my machine instead of showing a strangely short estimated runtime yet taking 5 to 6 hours to finish.

They worked either way and didn't error out but the difference gives me peace of mind.

Took a lot cpu-time. Is that normal?

I have this https://srbase.my-firewall.org/sr5/workunit.php?wuid=51455247 running non stop since

20260701 20:29:30 PRPLL a3e4c7e starting

on my 1050Ti.

Now I have:

20260705 09:35:20 85444441 33120000 088d8b1715d8c50b 8432 ETA 5d 02:33
20260705 09:38:06 85444441 33140000 ed4e1ba9a82606b8 8271 ETA 5d 00:10
20260705 09:40:50 85444441 33160000 c1d34c0f09d5dd88 8244 ETA 4d 23:44
20260705 09:43:37 85444441 33180000 f4b435d518e849a6 8325 ETA 5d 00:52

and deadline on 07/07 19:46.

So it is impossible to solve WU till deadline.

Now I need to decide kill task now or keep it running. Looks like here is only 40% completed in 3,5 days and only 2,5 left.

Looks like this card is a little bit to slow.

By the way, I see only 220 LL-dc tasks in progress now, looks like these are heavy and not popular.

It is not possible to split checks, in this case of 85444441, lets say by 20000000, to shorter intervals and to make shorter WUs? This is amateurish question, I haven't read description of these tasks carefully.

I have extended the deadline. All tasks have the same runtime, could be changed in the future but with longer runs. There was a plan to extend the deadline by newer tasks but the deadline on the cat0/1 is only 30d.
