Howdy,
I've had a couple of WUs that have got to 100% but not officially completed in BOINC manager.
I have to force them to complete by suspending other tasks and then I get a computation error.
Both have a "Finish file present too long" error.

Really annoying as the latter had run for over 20 hours.
Any ideas. I'm just running this project and TN-Grid |

Hello,
I have the same problem "finish file present too long" on host 7008. Three tasks have ended as error : 317020990, 317020779, 317019802. What could be the cause of the error ? Is there a way to validate these wus ?
Thanking you.

After the WU was finished the client restarted the same WU so the outputfile was bigger than expected. this is a boinc client issue and with Win10 it can be happened more than on Win7. Validating is not possible due the error check. |

Thanks for the quick reply. On this host, tasks are not keeped in memory. Maybe is it a track to follow ?
Cheers

I've just had a spate of these too: tasks 369874004 369942166 369942164 369942126 370637112 370637098 370656663 which is 7 out of the last 20. I *do* have the "Leave application in memory while suspended" enabled on this host.
Is there any known workaround? |

On my computer with Ryzen 3950X running on CentOS 8 the same problem.
When running more than 16 threads the error occur, when reducing the count of threads to 16 all WUs will be done without error. I have tested it with Riesel Base - Short.
On other computers with Ryzen 3700X, same OS the WUs running fine on all 16 threads. |

Thats strange. Iam also running all threads on my 3950X with the smaller R3 base without any problems but on windows. |

I set the BIOS of the computer to default values, no D.O.C.P. and boost overdrive disabled - the same error occure if more than 16 threads used. |

Hi JayPi,
please keep in mind that boinc fixes a client error "finish file present too long" in version 7.16.5 (released at 25.02.2020).
https://wiki.bc-team.org/index.php?title=7.16.5
Your client on CentOS running on 7.14.2, maybe you can get a newer version for this os.
Regards Odi
