I just recently bought a 12 (with hyper-threading) core workstation for mining BOINC. I am wondering if there is a way to make it more efficient for number computation. I believe that (faster) computing of numbers is going to be the future for many industries (mainly space travel).

I am somewhat busy at this moment in my life. So something that would take me, say, around 1-2 hours would be greatly appreciated. Also, It is very hot in my data center at this moment. I have yet to buy an air conditioner. But in about a week or so I will have one.

Also, I am interested in creating sieve files if that would be helpful. I would definitely need instruction and encouragement to do this task.
